EaZup was born from a practical need in recreational kayaking. As a lover of all things outdoors, product developer, Mike Hanger, enjoys recreational kayaking and angling via kayak but being a large guy with some muscle skeletal medical issues getting in and out of kayaks was always a challenge. Getting up and down, in and out of kayaks or moreover standing up on the water to fish were challenging at best. Thus, Hanger and wife Lori, developed a lanyard extending back to the kayaker that can be used to obtain balance and leverage which proved invaluable, allowing one to stand or sit without flopping around like a fish out of water. So, after working on the design and hardware to make this idea as universal as possible for the many variations of sit-on-top kayaks EaZup was born. While EaZup is not the only lanyard style solution, it is the only one of its kind. EaZup requires no drilling holes in the user’s kayak, no screws through the hull to cause leaks and no rivets. EaZup uses existing scupper holes pre-molded in the boats factory design as a safe, semi-permanent anchor point.
